What is the Gender Equality Forum?

The Gender Equality Forum 2024 (Forum) comes at a crucial time after the European elections, and with a new European Commission taking office. It provides an important space for conversations on the future of gender equality in Europe until 2030. The Forum brings together acknowledged experts and new voices, practitioners and high-level decision-makers from EU institutions, national and local governments, civil society, academia, business, media, and the arts.

The Gender Equality Forum will take place on 10-11 December 2024 in Brussels at the EGG. It will be a hybrid event with in-person sessions on site and some virtual online discussions.

Building on the success of the inaugural Gender Equality Forum in 2022, there will be debates around key themes, workshops and masterclasses to share best practices.

What’s in it for you?

Are you ready to help shape a fairer future for all? Make your voice heard at the second Gender Equality Forum on 10-11 December 2024.

We’re looking for partners to make the Forum 2024 a unique place to inspire each other and co-create together. The conversations you spark will help shape the gender equality agenda in the EU for the years to come. It is a chance to join forces, build coalitions and come up with fresh ideas for a more gender-equal Europe.

Together, and based on EIGE's strong evidence on the state of gender equality, we can strengthen our collective efforts and build new partnerships to advance gender equality. We want to hear your ambitious idea today.

We look forward to reading your proposals for sessions in line with the Forum’s two main thematic strands which are:

  • Taking stock of gender equality in Europe: now and beyond 2025.
  • Tackling gender-based violence in the EU: Persistent and emerging challenges and how can we address them?

This year there will be a strong focus on youth.

You have an idea for hosting one of the Forum's parallel sessions?

We look forward to hearing from you.

EIGE aims to have up to 6 sessions (half of the parallel sessions) conducted by external partners. We will provide the venue and main technical equipment and cover travel and accommodation costs for moderators/facilitators and speakers confirmed by EIGE.

Partners and contributors must have proven capacity and experience in hosting sessions.

EIGE seeks to involve a diverse range of organisations and individuals with a focus on gender equality issues to ensure the Forum covers all relevant topics. We call for voices from different backgrounds and from different parts of the EU. An intersectional perspective on gender equality is encouraged.

Please submit your session idea using our online form by 30 May 2024 EOB.
