The Gender Equality Forum (Forum) is your platform to stand up for gender equality. Together, we can strengthen our joint efforts and build new partnerships to advance gender equality in the EU.

We want sessions that

  • focus on how to create impact through innovative ways for tangible outcomes such as calls to action, concrete commitments, joint statements or plans for building partnerships which could feature in the Forum’s Chair Statement
  • actively involve participants on site or online
  • are set up in partnership between organisations
  • are linked to the EU policy framework

All sessions should relate to the key thematic strands of the Forum.

The event language is English. Translation will not be provided. There will be international sign language interpretation provided for online sessions and selected sessions on-site.

Panels should have no more than three speakers; a moderator/facilitator with experience should facilitate the discussion. Before submitting your proposal, please confirm individual availability for those key roles.

We want our sessions to reflect the diversity of Europe and promote an intersectional outlook on gender equality. Hence, voices at the Forum should be as diverse as possible.

The Forum’s focus is on young people. We want their voices to be heard in sessions, e.g. as speakers or moderators/facilitators.

We encourage input from a variety of stakeholders, e.g. civil society, policymakers, arts, media, business, and academia.

We encourage open, respectful discussion of ideas between people with diverse viewpoints.

Please note that our final selection of sessions will be guided by venue capacity, budget availability, and technical setup.

For any further questions, please contact the Forum team at genderequalityforum2024@eige.europa.eu.

Review process and timeline

The Forum 2024 will be a hybrid event taking place in Brussels with sessions for in-person participation as well as fully virtual online sessions. Most sessions will be web-streamed on the event website.

After you submit a proposal, we will review the information you’ve provided. We’ll consider its quality, significance, originality and relevance in line with our selection criteria.
