Providing justice to victims of femicide

EIGE’s study on femicide will identify gaps between law and practice in providing justice to victims and their families. It will also provide recommendations to help EU Member States improve their institutional response to femicide cases. 

EIGE will examine the following areas in five EU Member States:

• Due diligence principles and how they apply to femicide cases, legislative and policy documents as well as international and European case-law
• The role and rights of victims and their families in criminal proceedings on femicide cases
• The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on femicide, specifically on how lockdown measures have impacted protection, as well as justice for victims and their families

The report will be published in 2022.
