The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) organises the online discussion “Taking a step forward: EIGE’s guiding principles for gender equality competence development”.

As a part of its work on gender mainstreaming methods, tools and good practices, EIGE had implemented a project Gender Training in the European Union: Mapping, research and stakeholders' engagement (2012-2013).  During the project EIGE had engaged in several rounds of research on gender equality training, organised consultations with the stakeholders, prepared practical materials to support the Member States and the EU institutions in their effort to advance the development of gender equality competence among the administration staff in the member States.

Responding to the needs and advise expressed by a number of different stakeholders and based on the research results EIGE has drafted the Guiding principles for gender equality competence development. The document proposes a set of guidelines to be followed by public authorities when addressing the gaps in gender equality competence in the EU Member States.

The online discussion will bring together public officials working on gender mainstreaming and gender equality experts from around the EU to consult on the prepared draft document as well as to share ideas with regard to the promotion of such guidelines in the Member States. We invite you to confirm your interest in participating to info@culturalavoro.it and you will receive additional information on how to register.
