General Secretariat for Gender Equality (Ministry of Interior)
The General Secretariat for Gender Equality is the governmental agency competent to plan, implement and monitor the implementation of policies on equality between women and men in all sectors. Taking into account, on the one hand,t he government’s approach vis-à-vis the provision of services to all the country’s citizens - men and women alike – and, on the other hand, the conclusions drawn by feminist analyses of public policies, the Secretariat drafts national action programmes and policies on gender equality. The latest national programme was the National Programme for Substantive Gender Equality 2010-2013, while a new one is to be published soon.
