Promoting the reconciliation of work and family and Work in collective bargaining agreements and company agreements in Germany - An empirical analysis
The study investigates the regulation of family-friendly working conditions as a subject of collective agreements and company agreements. Based on an evaluation of the most important 110 collective agreements as well as the WSI works council survey 2011 the survey analyzes, whether the number of collective and company agreements has increased and on which subjects new arrangements have been agreed. Overall, the collective level of regulation indeed has potentials for implementing more family-friendly working conditions, but they are not currently exploited in width.
