To monitor and review progress on the implementaiton of the National Women's Strategy, 2007-2016
Results and impact
The Committee meets at least twice a year and has produced 3 Progress Reports. It also approved the establishment of two sub-committees - one looking at women in politics and decision-making and the other at women in business. The Minister for Equality, Mental Health and Disability chairs the Sub-committee on women in decision-making. The Minister organised a conference on the subject in January 2012.

A Monitoring Committee, representative of the key Government Departments, relevant State Agencies and the Social Partners, including the National Women’s Council of Ireland (NWCI), has been established under the chairmanship of the Minister of State with responsibility for Equality. This Committee is tasked to review progress on the Strategy’s implementation.
