Provincia Autonoma di Trento - Agenzia provinciale per la famiglia, natalità e politiche giovanili
Trentino’s special Statute of Autonomy - in effect since 1946 - grants the Autonomous Province direct legislative, administrative and financial jurisdiction in fundamental areas, including education, health, industrial policy, transport, the University and tourism. The financial resources and wealth produced remain within Trentino and are managed by the Provincial Government. The Trentino welfare system has adopted more innovative measures, in line with the most advanced policies in Europe, acting as a testing ground for the whole country. In order to protect minimum income levels and the purchasing power of families, the Autonomous Province of Trento was the first Province to adopt a minimum guaranteed income. In relation to families, the main objective is to influence the expectations of the family, also acting to support population growth. For this purpose there are a range of provisions: financial support, social and educational services, information services and promotion of subsidiarity and hence the role of volunteer work. Considerable attention is paid to reconciling working schedules with private life, also by providing services such as crèches and Tagesmuetter (childcare service). Special measures are provided for large families or families with young children. In 2011 by approving the law LP.1/2011 “Integrated System of Structural Policies for Promotion of Family and Birth Wellbeing” the Autonomous Province has constituted the Agency for Family, Birth and Youth Policies in order to give execution to the law’s purposes. Some of which are:- the standard Family Audit and the brand name “Family in Trentino" - the implementation of actions and measures for Youth Policies- the implementation of actions for promoting gender equality .
