Although not solely dedicated on gender equality, the trainings included panels on gender equality, discussing famous cases of media products and statements undermining women’s roles and dignity. The national trainings for media professionals covered the topics of equality, tolerant speech, respect for persons’ dignity and right to non-discrimination, and disseminated an accompanying manual for journalists (Watch Your Mouth!). Those measures were launched partly because of a number of complaints lodged with the national equality body. Such complaints regarded stereotyped, prejudiced or even abusive language and coverage of certain topics and events, breaching the right to equal treatment and respect for human dignity of the plaintiffs.
