EIGE is meeting leading gender equality experts, policy-makers and statisticians from Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Sweden.

The aim of the meeting is to present the conceptual framework and preliminary results of the Gender Equality Index and discuss its benefits and possible use before it is officially launched on 13 June 2013. 

EIGE constructed the Index so that it becomes the European Union’s key tool to assess the extent of equality between women and men within the Member States and the effectiveness of the EU policies within this area.
