Why: This important training gives a unique opportunity to sensitise about unconsious bias, challenging allegedly objective and gender-neutral career enhancement criteria guided by one of the leading gender experts in Europe, Dr Maxime Forest. The training will provide an overview of the main imbalances and bias with regard to HR management in research and the academia (vertical and horizontal segregation, gender pay gap, international mobility with examples of measures aimed at tackling those biases to build capacity. 

Dr Forest’s recent work includes the roles of Scientific Coordinator on the FP7 EGERA Project, Advisor on gender equality issues for the French Ministry of Research and Higher Education and is an appointed member of the High Gender Equality Council which advises the French Prime Minister on gender issues and he is involved with three successful Horizon2020 research projects, all focused on gender and academia.

This in person training will take place in Montpellier (France) hosted by the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD). Participation is free of charge, while travel and other expenses should be covered by participants.
