Increasingly, smoking and binge drinking are becoming alarming lifestyle factors for young girls and women in Europe. Our Roundtable will sound the alert about the serious health challenges for women due to tobacco and alcohol use. Already today, cancer of the lung/bronchus is the third most common cancer among women in Europe; lung cancer death has overtaken that of breast in Poland, the UK and Ireland.

Even in small amounts alcohol is more risky for women. Why?

 

The European Week against Cancer is an opportunity to highlight that the present increase of tobacco and alcohol consumption is threatening not only the future health of women but also affects their children's health.
