Gender equality and socio-economic consequences of the COVID-19 crisis

The European Institute for Gender Equality, the regulatory agency of the European Union, (referred to below as the contracting authority) is planning to award the contract(s) resulting from the above procurement procedure. The procurement documents consist of the publication on Internet, this invitation letter, the draft contract and tender specifications with their respective annexes.

The overall objective of the study is to collect and analyse EU-wide information on the socio-economic effects of the COVID-19 crisis on women and men, notably in terms of work-life balance, and thereby to provide new knowledge on the multi-faceted impacts on gender equality as well as gender sensitive ways out of the crisis. 

The specific objectives are:

1. Study findings, as a part of EIGE’s research note, support the Presidency of the Council with the necessary evidence to better understand gender equality consequences of the COVID-19 crisis, setting basis for policy discussions at EU level.
2. Study findings, as a part of EIGE’s Gender Equality Index 2022, support EU Institutions, Member States and other stakeholders with an increased understanding of gender equality changes and effectiveness of policy responses, especially in the context of Index domains of work, time and money, due to the COVID-19 crisis.
3. Survey methodology and data delivered under this study further increase EIGE’s unique data sources to support EU policy priorities by giving access to reliable and timely information on the COVID-19 crisis and gender equality to various stakeholders.
