Cathrin Schauer
Cathrin Schauer and her organisation KARO are fighting violence against children and women in the border areas between Germany and Czech Republic by supporting the victims of forced prostitution and human trafficking.
As manager of KARO, Cathrin opened a counselling office in Plauen, Germany, as well as the help-desk in Cheb, Czech Republic. Here, victims can receive individual counselling in their mother tongue, free of charge.
Besides counselling, the organisations led by Cathrin Schauer, can also provide victims with shelter for up to two years, follow-up-care and support for re re-assignment, as well as support to leave prostitution and to return to their country of origin.
Staff at KARO e.V. are often the first point of contact for victims of forced prostitution or others in a position to alert. The organisation has established a wide range of contacts including healthcare professionals and youth and social workers.
Thanks to Cathrin Schauer and the organisations she leads - KARO e.V. – there is now a continuous support to the victims of violence against children and women in the border areas of Saxonia/Czech Republic.
