Maritime affairs and fisheries

Although the fishing industry in the European Union is dominated by men, women have always contributed within fishing communities and through family-owned businesses. Gender equality in maritime affairs means a full acknowledgment of women’s participation in the sector and their promotion in visible decision-making roles.
