Gender mainstreaming has been internationally adopted as a key strategy towards making gender equality a reality.
Its ultimate goal is to redress gender inequalities in policies, services and public interventions. To put this into practice, EIGE has created this platform on gender mainstreaming with step-by-step guidance.
Gender mainstreaming involves applying a gender equality perspective in each phase of the policy-making cycle as well as all areas within policies and processes such as procurement or budgeting.
EIGE supports EU institutions and EU member states’ governmental bodies with the integration of a gender perspective in their work.
EU Funds can be transformative: they’ve helped reduce inequality across the EU. Yet when it comes to equality between women and men, they’re not reaching their full potential.
