Gender budgeting is a strategy and a process with the long-term aim of achieving gender equality goals. This step-by-step toolkit aims to assist managing authorities in the European Union to apply gender budgeting tools in the processes of the EU Funds under shared management.

EIGE has developed an online toolkit to apply gender budgeting as a gender mainstreaming tool in EU Funds processes. The first three sections introduce the concept of gender budgeting and examine its relevance for the EU Funds. Section 4 offers 11 practical tools on gender budgeting, related to: the EU regulatory framework; national/sub-national programming and project-level support;
13 May 2020 With 54.5 out of 100 points, Romania ranks 25th in the EU on the Gender Equality Index. Its score is 12.9 points lower than the EU’s score. Between 2005 and 2017, Romania’s score increased by 4.6 points (+ 2.1 points since 2015). Romania is progressing towards gender equality at a slower pace than other EU Member States. Its rank has dropped one place since 2005.

This factsheet looks at how the intersection between gender and disability affects women and men in the EU. It is based on the Gender Equality Index 2017, developed by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE). The Index measures gender equality and helps to monitor its progress across the EU and over time.
03 October 2018 The Gender Equality Index 2017 examines the progress and challenges in achieving gender equality across the European Union from 2005 to 2015. Using a scale from 1 (full inequality) to 100 (full equality), it measures the differences between women and men in key domains of the EU policy framework (work, money, knowledge, time, power and health).
