Gender budgeting is a strategy and a process with the long-term aim of achieving gender equality goals. This step-by-step toolkit aims to assist managing authorities in the European Union to apply gender budgeting tools in the processes of the EU Funds under shared management.

EIGE has developed an online toolkit to apply gender budgeting as a gender mainstreaming tool in EU Funds processes. The first three sections introduce the concept of gender budgeting and examine its relevance for the EU Funds. Section 4 offers 11 practical tools on gender budgeting, related to: the EU regulatory framework; national/sub-national programming and project-level support;
13 May 2020 With 69.2 out of 100 points, Luxembourg ranks 10th in the EU on the Gender Equality Index. Its score is 1.8 points higher than the EU’s score. Between 2005 and 2017, Luxembourg’s score increased by 4.8 points (+ 0.2 points since 2015). Luxembourg is progressing towards gender equality at a slightly slower pace than other EU Member States. Its rank has dropped by two places since 2005.
07 October 2019With 74.6 out of 100 points, France ranks third in the EU on the Gender Equality Index. Its score is over 7 points above the EU’s score. France’s score has increased by 9.4 points since 2005 (+ 2 points since 2015). Due to its fast pace of progress towards gender equality, France’s ranking improved by four places between 2005 and 2017.
07 October 2019With 71.1 out of 100 points, Belgium ranks 8th in the EU on the Gender Equality Index. Its score is 3.7 points higher than the EU’s score. Between 2005 and 2017, Belgium’s score increased by 5.1 points (+ 0.6 points since 2015). Despite this progress, Belgium is progressing towards gender equality at a slower pace than other EU Member States. Its ranking has dropped by two places since 2005.
