It is our great pleasure to welcome Helena Valas, from Slovenia, after being elected as Chair of the Board, following EIGE’s 44th Management Board meeting, held on 19-20 June 2025 in Vilnius. Her term began on 20 June 2025.
Helena has a diverse portfolio of professional experience in leadership, research, innovation and civil service.
Since 2019, Helena has been Head of Equal Opportunities Division in Slovenia’s Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and is a member of the high-level group on gender mainstreaming.
She previously managed projects at the Agricultural Institute, National Institute of Biology and the Centre of Excellence for Polymer Materials.
Prior to her appointment as Chair, Helena was a member of the Management Board from 17 February 2020 to 31 May 2022.
