Jolanta Reingarde, Senior Researcher at EIGE, will take part in the "Making Young Researchers' Voices Heard for Gender Equality" conference which will take place on 14-15 February 2023 in Malta.

Action CA20137's main goal is to increase the visibility of inequalities faced by young researchers from a gender perspective and to promote sustainable dialogue between young researchers and stakeholders in the research ecosystem at the systemic level (European & national policy-makers) and at the institutional level (senior researchers, academic managers) by creating a community of gender equality practitioners composed of various stakeholders (young researchers, independent researchers, academic managers, organizations) across Europe.

The outcomes include training schools for young researchers, scientific publications by young researchers, recommendations & guidelines for academics and policy-makers.

Ms Reingarde will give an overview of gender equality in Europe as it is revealed by EIGE’s latest Gender Equality Index, released in October 2022, which also reflects on the impacts of the COVID reality on gender equality. She will also present EIGE’s contribution to EU gender equality policies in the area of research and innovation, by introducing EIGE’s GEAR tool, which provides universities and research organisations with practical advice and tools through all stages of institutional change, from setting up a gender equality plan to evaluating its real impact.
