EU agency for gender equality hosts the national data providers consultation meeting on administrative data collection on intimate partner violence and gender-based violence against women (GBVAW) in Vilnius (and online).

On behalf of the Agency, GBV Team's Researcher, Monica Barbovschi, underscores the need for a comparable measurement framework and indicators to assess different forms of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and gender-based violence (GBV) across the EU.

Following the 2023 data collection process on IPV, rape and femicide across the EU, the Agency continues to support EU Member States in assessing progress and addressing data gaps and data challenges. To that end, the consultation meeting with national data providers aims to introduce and validate data on the Agency's indicators on Violence Against Women (VAW) and Domestic Violence (DV) and to reflect on consequent challenges. Moreover, the consultation looks for input on a future data visualization, to showcase the national data collected on VAW and DV in each Member State.
