EIGE’s director, Carlien Scheele, participates in a Joint Public Hearing on Digital Violence and Women’s Mental Health organised by the Committee on Public Health together with the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality.
The session addresses the rise of online hate, harassment and digital abuse, and the increasing impact these forms of violence have on the mental health of women and girls. The hearing aims to examine the psychological effects of such behaviour and to highlight the gaps in current legal measures and support services available to those affected.
