EIGE’s Gender-based violence researcher, Monica Barbovschi, attends the Equinet Gender Equality Working Group meeting to present the key findings on cyberviolence against women and girls.

During the session, EIGE provides an overview of its research on developing a comparable measurement framework for cyberviolence and it showcases the role and the impact social media platforms have in cyberviolence against women and girls. The working group also discuss pieces of EU legislation relevant for gender equality, such as the recent EU Directive on Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence, to be transposed by 14 June 2027.
