The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) is celebrating International Women's Day. The event will take place at EIGE’s premises in Vilnius, on 6 March, 2015.
EIGE supports the Presidencies of the Council of the EU in delivering reports / research notes on the EU follow-up of the BPfA. Therefore, EIGE will present the findings of its Research Note on Gender Gaps in Pensions developed for the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union (first semester, 2015) to European and Lithuanian stakeholders.
The Gender Gap in Pensions appears to be the result of lower life time earnings and smaller or interrupted social security contributions by women. The important findings of the note will be explained during the presentations. EIGE imagines they will be useful to use and to pass on.
