Call for youth participation at the EIGE Gender Equality Forum 2024: Selection criteria, process and timeline

Profile of participants

For its second Gender Equality Forum, the European Institute for Gender Equality aims to engage with a younger and more diverse audience to be involved in the conversations on the future of gender equality in Europe until 2030.

This call is designed for people who are:

• aged between 18-30 years (at the time of application)
• committed to gender equality as a core principle of the European Union
• motivated to participate actively in the different sessions of the Forum
• able to express themselves comfortably in English
• available for the entire duration of the Forum (10 and 11 December)
• based in one of the 27 Member States of the EU

Selection of participants

The European Institute for Gender Equality will select up to 50 youths for on-site participation at the event venue in Brussels based on the profile outlined above. Our final decision will be guided by ensuring a balance between genders, ages, geographical regions, different types of experiences and cultural backgrounds.

A waiting list may be established. Candidates will be informed whether their application has been accepted or rejected, and if they have been put on the waiting list, by 15 July 2024.

We plan to organise an online introduction meeting with the selected participants closer to the event date, tentatively scheduled for November (date to be confirmed).

Practical information

The Forum will take place in Brussels. The travel and accommodation expenses, and daily allowance will be covered for travelling participants (based outside of Brussels) by the European Institute for Gender Equality. Accommodation will be provided in a hotel in Brussels, close to the event location. Lunch will be provided at the event.
