Description

EIGE has looked into home-based formal long-term care (LTC) services, as requested by the Croatian Presidency of the EU.

The study provides an overview of the state of play of home-based LTC in the EU Member States, explores the availability of data and proposes indicators to monitor the availability, quality and affordability of LTC in the EU and its Member States.

It looks at different aspects of LTC that determine women’s and men’s opportunities to access long-term care services. Children with disabilities, adults with disabilities and older people are the three groups of care recipients covered in this study. The study also focuses on the quality of employment for those working in the home-based care sector.
