Ahead of the upcoming Polish Presidency of the European Union in the first half of 2025, EIGE establishes strategic support with key stakeholders in Poland.

This week Director Carlien Scheele and her delegation were in Poland as part of EIGE’s ongoing support to the rotating Presidencies of the Council of the European Union. 

Carlien Scheele said:

We had a series of excellent meetings with governmental and non-governmental key players in the area of gender equality in Poland. We have established strategic paths to actively strengthen our cooperation, particularly in view of the Polish Presidency of the EU in 2025. This Presidency will be the first one after the new European Commission takes office, and we really look forward to our cooperation to further advance gender equality in the European Union.

The Director and her delegation met with Minister of Equality Katarzyna Kotula and Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, Undersecretary of State, European Union Affairs. EIGE also held discussions with the Undersecretary of State of Justice Zuzanna Rudzińska-Bluszcz, the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights, the Women’s Rights Parliamentary Group, NGOs in Poland, and the Head of the EC Representation in Poland.
