Le Fraenhaus Lëtzebuerg - housing programme and psychological support to women and their children.
Analysis of the needs of victims; help in designing a personal project; empowerment; Regular evaluation of their progress in their project. Shelter is offered, in principle, for 4 months but that can be extended if needed to support the women in realising a personal project. Work with the methodology "Devictimisation et intervention feministe" (canadian model): work on feelings; e.g. anger and sadness, to help the victim to get out of the position of victim, work on empowerment. Provide also housing for second stage (logement de deuxieme phase) accessible for women and their children for three years for a small rent. Possibility also for victims who have separated from their partner, to be supported by the "Centre pour femmes, famille monoparentale (CFFM)" - Centre for women and single parent families.
Aims and objectives
Provide a safe place to women victims of domestic violence. Possibility to accomodate 8 women and their children (no age limit for the children). Unique shelter in Luxembourg dedicated to women victim of domestic violence. Shelter working in collaboration with other shelters for women.
Results and impact
In 2011, 41 women and 51 children have been accomodated in the shelter.
