Establishing and developing the Alliance for Protection against DV
The members of the Alliance provide interdisciplinary services for women victims of DV in 12 locations in Bulgaria, work on proposing legislation, on monitoring the implementation of the legislation, on training on the coordinated community response, on monitoring and court monitoring., training of professionals.
Aims and objectives
To unite the efforts and expertise of 9 Bulgarian NGOs in the field of DV and VAW for: campaigning and lobbying for legislation and policy; elaboration of standards fro services on DV; ensure sustainability of the protection of victims; applying the multisectoral approach ; training the professionals; international cooperation
Results and impact
Since the establishment of the Aliance in 2009, more consistent support is provided to the victims, more focused work with the institutions at local and national level is conducted. The example of the Alliance is shown as a model for other countries in the region of Eastern Europe.
