The EU-level Gender Mainstreaming Helpdesk provides short-term, tailored technical support on gender mainstreaming and gender budgeting.

It serves eligible EU institutions and Member State authorities.

The Helpdesk draws on EIGE’s gender mainstreaming tools, methods and evidence.

Who can use the Helpdesk?

The Helpdesk serves a defined set of eligible institutions at EU and Member State level.

  • EU Institutions

    The European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the EU and its rotating Presidencies.

     

  • Member State Authorities

    National gender equality bodies and gender equality experts in line ministries. 

What kind of support can my institution receive?

The Helpdesk provides targeted, short-term support on gender mainstreaming and gender budgeting.

This covers policymaking and institutional processes and financial management in the EU and Member States.

How long will it take?

  • The standard process to receive your product is up to 30 working days. Response times may be shorter, depending on the nature and complexity of your request.

The Helpdesk offers six principal types of support:

  1. Analytical input or advice
  2. Practical guidance
  3. Review and feedback
  4. Good practices and resources
  5. Awareness-raising and institutional transformation
  6. Capacity-building materials

How do I submit a request?

Use the online form at the bottom of this page. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

  • To exchange sensitive documents, EIGE uses encrypted email. Please contact us at gmhelpdesk@eige.europa.eu to obtain certificates and instructions on how to use it.

Before you start, check that:

  • you are submitting on behalf of an eligible institution
  • your request is about gender mainstreaming or gender budgeting in policy or financial management
  • you are using your official work email address

The form will ask you to:

  • confirm your institution and role
  • give your request a short title and describe what you need, the policy context, and how you will use the output
  • say if your request is linked to a deadline
  • upload any relevant documents (optional)
  • confirm your consent to data processing and your eligibility

The Helpdesk handles personal data under EU Regulation 2018/1725 and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). EIGE is the data controller. Your data is used only to handle your request and keep a record. It is not used for other purposes or shared without your agreement.

All requests and outputs are confidential.
