Gender Equality Index 2025: A New Chapter Begins on 2 December

On Tuesday, 2 December EIGE is set to unveil the latest insights and trends on gender equality across the EU – while also marking a new milestone for the flagship tool.

Since its launch in 2013, the Gender Equality Index has helped policymakers track progress and identify key gender gaps.

This year signals a turning point: the 2025 edition introduces a revamped methodology, revised indicators and expanded data sources to better reflect today’s realities and policy priorities.

In a rapidly changing world, sharper data calls for stronger action. The new Index sets a more powerful benchmark for closing gender gaps - faster and more effectively.

This year’s Index also includes fresh findings on gender stereotypes, highlighting how persistent gender norms still shape our daily lives, choices, and opportunities.

The event will explore how institutions and individuals can challenge gender stereotypes across different areas of life. It will also spotlight promising practices that inspire change.

When: 2 December 2025 | 10:30–13:00 CET

Where: Brussels & OnlinePlease note: in-person attendance is by invitation only due to limited venue capacity.
