Vytautas Peciukonis is a Research Officer at the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), the EU agency for gender equality. Since joining EIGE in 2018, he has managed several flagship research projects, including EIGE's EU-wide CARE Survey on unpaid care and social activities and a panel survey on gender inequalities in platform work across 10 EU Member States.
In 2026, he led EIGE's study on parental leave eligibility in the EU, examining policy design features that support fathers' uptake of leave and mapping eligibility rules across Member States. The study also estimated the share of people excluded from parental leave schemes and analysed the links between parental leave provisions and early childhood education and care (ECEC) entitlements.
Vytautas' work also includes the development and analysis of EIGE's Gender Equality Index (2019-2026 editions), the EU's flagship tool for tracking progress towards gender equality. Prior to joining EIGE, he worked as a public policy researcher specialising in labour market and education policy.
