The European Institute for Gender Equality is holding its third Gender Equality Forum in Brussels on 17 November 2026.
In the current political cycle, competitiveness has risen to the forefront of the EU agenda. The Gender Equality Forum 2026 provides a platform to mobilise ideas and strengthen momentum so that gender equality is recognised as a driver within the EU’s competitiveness agenda. The Gender Equality Index for 2026 will also be released at the event. The Forum brings together experts, young voices, practitioners and high-level decision-makers from EU institutions, national and local governments, business, civil society, academia, and media.
The Forum reflects EIGE’s thematic focus on gender equality as an engine for sustainable growth and a more competitive Europe.
The event will feature various panel discussions, workshops, and inspirational talks. Discussions will focus on three key thematic strands:
- Care at the core for resilient economies
- Skills for innovation and potential of closing gendered gaps in talent
- The cost of gender gaps – and how to unlock gender equality as an economic accelerator
