Maija Jokelainen is a children’s instructor and high school graduate from Finland. She’s been a member of Generation Equality Youth Finland since 2022. Generation Equality is a five-year (United Nations) campaign coordinated by UN Women. It promotes women’s and girls’ rights globally across thematic areas in which progress has been particularly slow.
Maija is passionate about ensuring a safe childhood for children around the world, eliminating domestic violence and securing safe and accessible integration and reproductive health services, along with raising the amount of safe houses for victims of domestic violence and extorting sentences for sexual crimes and homicides. Because every woman lost is too many.
