Joanna Maycock is a prominent feminist figure in the Brussels, European, and international NGO sectors, with 30 years of experience in advancing women’s rights, social equity, and climate action.

From 2014 to 2021, she served as Secretary General of the European Women’s Lobby (EWL). Previously, Joanna led ActionAid International’s work in Europe to promote gender equality and combat global poverty. She has also served as President of CONCORD, the European Confederation of Development NGOs, and is a Co-Founder and Co-President of W100, a collective focused on reclaiming public space for all women and girls.

As a coach and trainer for sustainable feminist futures, Joanna unites stakeholders across sectors and generations. She recently co-authored the study “Women CSO Leaders for Systemic Change: How to Support Feminist Leadership in Europe,” highlighting progress and barriers for feminist leaders. An experienced speaker, she has facilitated events in the European Parliament on Feminist Foreign Policy and hosted debates for EU institutions and NGOs on feminist and green transitions.
