Pronouns: She/her

Claire commenced her tenure with the Independent Living Movement (ILMI) team in January 2021 as a policy assistant. She holds a B.Sc. honours degree in Applied Biology and Biopharmaceutical Science. LMI is a national cross-impairment Disabled Persons Organisation (DPO) as defined under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). Central to our work is ensuring that policy decisions that impact the lives of disabled people are directly influenced by those whose lives are directly affected.

Claire represents ILMI in the Sustainable Development Goals National Stakeholder Committee for 2024 and is part of the feminist Communities for Climate Justice project advisory group, where she brings the cross-impairment collective DPO disabled person’s perspective to climate change and social justice. Disabled people and DPOs must be part of a whole societal transformative effect for our shared future where nobody is left behind.
