Sofia is a Brussels-based policy and advocacy professional specializing in gender equality, women's rights, and EU affairs.
As IYCGE's Global Ambassador for Belgium, she authored a policy report on gender inequality, covering women's economic and political representation.
Her background across UN Women, IPPF European Network, and Adecco Foundation, focused on non-discrimination and inclusion. She holds a master’s in international relations and has completed specific training on Women, Peace and Security, Gender and AI, and SRHR.
She is interested in the care economy as a driver of competitiveness as her IYCGE research examined how unpaid care work limits women's economic participation. She brings a youth and civil society perspective to this year's EU competitiveness and gender debate.
