Elena works as a Gender Mainstreaming Research Officer in EIGE’s Research and Policy Support Unit. She contributes to EIGE’s policy support on gender mainstreaming and to the development of gender mainstreaming methods and tools. Most recently, she coordinated the update of the EU-wide guidelines on gender-neutral job evaluation and classification. Previously, Elena worked with UN Women, providing technical assistance on gender mainstreaming, including gender budgeting and gender statistics. Elena holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and two master's degrees in gender studies and in human rights and democracy.
