The trainers?

Dra. Thera van Osch is a leading senior gender trainer. She has over 30 years of experience in capacity building for gender mainstreaming, including training EU Staff. She studied Economics at the University of Tilburg, Netherlands (1980), and is currently CEO of OQ Consulting BV in the Netherlands ( www.oqconsulting.eu).

MSc Margherita Sofia Zambelli, finished her master in international cooperation at ISPI in Milan, Italy (2014), and is currently gender trainer and project assistant at OQ Consulting BV in the Netherlands ( www.oqconsulting.eu ).

The training programme

After registering participants receive a Training Wishes Assessment Questionnaire. On the basis of their answers to this questionnaire, the practical part of the training will be tailored to the wishes and needs of the participants.

Each thematic area of the training will have a theoretical and a practical part. Discussions,
exchange of experiences and exercises will make the training dynamic and highly participative. Participants can make exercises with their own projects, or with the case studies provided by the trainers.

Main modules of the training

Day 1:

  • Milestones of gender mainstreaming, and main international en EU policy frameworks for gender mainstreaming
  • Concepts and rationale of gender mainstreaming
  • Strategies to promote gender equality

Day 2:

  • Gender mainstreaming in project cycle management
  • Tools and indicators for gender mainstreaming in projects and programmes
  • Gender mainstreaming in the logical framework approach

Day 3:

  • Gender responsive budgeting
  • Gender and economics.
  • Closing session
