EU agency for gender equality's GBV Second National Expert, Janine Mc Ginn, participates in a meeting of the Network on the prevention of gender-based and domestic violence (GBV) held by the EU Commission, in Brussels.
The Network involves a series of several meetings, to discuss relevant topics related to the prevention of GBV. This second discussion lies to "engaging young people, in particular men and boys: role of education and digital media". The first meeting took place in November 2023.
The aim of the Network is to provide the space for Member States to talk about needs for violence prevention which are not sufficiently addressed, or new, or emerging.
The purpose is to improve prevention with a multilateral approach:
- by mapping effective preventive measures,
- by sharing knowledge and tools for impactful risk assessment and detection of vulnerabilities and
- by exchanging existing good practices and lessons learned.
