EU agency for gender equality's Research and Policy Support Head of Unit, Maruša Gortnar, joins the Session II of the 71st Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs (COSAC) Plenary meeting, at the European Parliament, in Brussels.
In organizing the 71st Plenary meeting, the Belgian Presidency dedicates a session on gender policy and representation of women and men in Parliament.
During the discussion, the Agency presents the latest data on gender representation in the EU and national parliaments, including the impact of legislative quotas. In addition, the Agency highlights tools for parliaments to further promote gender equality, such as the gender sensitive parliaments self-assessment tools and the action plans.
