Use of boys and girls under the age of 18 in prostitution, pornography or other forms of sexual activity in which a child might engage in order to obtain food, shelter or other basic needs.

Commercial sexual exploitation of children was defi-ned in the declaration adopted at the First World Congress against CommercialSexual Exploitation (Stockholm, 1996) as “sexual abuse by the adult and remu-neration in cash or kind to the child or a third person or persons. The child istreated as a sexual object and as a commercial object.” The commercial sexualexploitation of children is defined as one of the worst forms of child labour byConvention No. 182. Both boys and girls may be victims.
