Etude d’évaluation de l'impact du congé parental au Grand-duché de Luxembourg

This study aims at evaluating the parental leave 3 years after its introduction in Luxembourg. This study provide information on the policy coverage and its impacts on the labour market participation of women. the study was based mainly on a qualitative research. the strategy (qualitative interviews as the main tool of data collection). The results show that the take up rate was quite low (around one third of the eligible parents). The main explanations for this low take up rate are linked to the organization of the work (afraid by the negative perception from his employer, the fear of not being able to evolve professionally as well as the feeling of not being able to reconcile work and parental leave) and to the monetary incentives.
