Gender-specific measures in anti-trafficking actions

This study examines whether the Anti-Trafficking Directive, read in conjunction with the Victims’ Rights Directive, contains an exhaustive understanding of women-specific risks and vulnerabilities to trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation. The report analyses the extent to which the Directives have the potential to fully protect and assist women and girls, as the likely victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation. The report also examines the coherence of the Directives with other EU and international instruments on trafficking in human beings, violence against women and gender equality.

EIGE developed a set of gender and child-specific recommendations and indicators to support Member States in the practical implementation of the Anti-Trafficking Directive and the Victims’ Rights Directive.
