Female Genital Mutilation. Capacity building and knowledge sharing; Focus groups with Migrant women in Malta
The two focus group sessions were requested by the Units Leader - Assistance and Welfare to Asylum Seekers and were organised by Ms Podda Connor. The sessions aimed to educate women/girls victims of and at risk of FGM among irregular migrants residing at the open centres on the health consequences of FGM. Attendance was voluntary and 23 women participated. The two Focus Group Sessions were supported by cultural mediators who spoke English and the languages spoken by the African women. An internal report describes the two focus group sessions.
