Aims and objectives

RFSU is a civil society NGO within the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights. RFSU provides condoms and other products, sexual information, advocacy, sexual policies, clinics, information provision in schools and much more. We are a non-profit organisation independent of party politics, unions and religion that works for an open, positive view of sex and relationship issues. We believe that everyone is entitled

  • to be what they want to be
  • to choose to live as they want
  • to enjoy what they want.

We are convinced that sex and relationships are important, both for the individual and society. We work locally (e.g. with information provision in schools), nationally (e.g. by influencing policies) and internationally (e.g. in the form of development projects in Africa). RFSU works to raise awareness of how sexuality is heavily affected by societal structures and contructs of gender, and to promote gender-equal sexual practices and relations on individual and societal levels.

  • Boys' group programmes in junior high schools in Stockholm, focusing on sexuality, gender equality, and equality in general
  • An action called "Basic Swedish" aimed at immigrants - information provision on sexual and reproductive health and rights
  • An action called "Socialt utsatta" aimed at men and women with drug addictions placed in social service institutions

  • Young Men as Equal Partners (YMEP) - a project targeting young men in SRHR issues, implemented in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia
