Activity of Commission on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men
Aims and objectives
Interinstitutional, the Commission on Equal Opportunities for women and men established in 2001 is accountable to the Government. The Commission is responsible for coordinating the implementation of policies on equality between women and men in all areas and implementation of the National programme on Equal Opoportunities for Women and Men. The commission serves as the heart of cooperation at all levels of the institutional gender equality mechanism: parliamentary level, governmental level, academia, social partners and women's NGO and the Equal Opportunities Ombudsman. The commission meets 4 times per year. It is composed of 1 or 2 representatives responsible for equality between women and men in each Ministry and 4 members delegated by NGOs.
