Stefania Bartoccetti is a manager of Social-Health Public Institution. Her activity is distinguished by her social commitment: she has been actively promoting the European and Regional network of Sportelli Rosa, to encourage women's participation in the working world, and of Mamma Sicura, to help women to live peacefully the experience of motherhood.
She also promoted in several public institutions in Milan, the establishment of nursery (Fatebenefratelli Hospital and Martinitt Institute), as well as committees for equal opportunities (Besta Neurological Institute, Martintt Institute, Stelline and Pio Albergo Trivulzio).
On 8 March 1992, she founded Telefono Donna, a listening center also specialized in taking care of women and families in difficulty, providing a free service through the voluntary participation of professionals, psychologists, attorneys, family mediators, medical and social assistants.
She was Vice President of the Women's Health Committee, established by the Ministry of Health, which prepared the first document containing guidelines for preventive interventions in Italy. She is the author of several publications, including "Penelope non abita più qui" (Penelope does not live here anymore) (Sperling & Kupfles, 1995).
