Employment
Having a job allows individuals to fulfil their basic needs and contribute to the economic and social development of society. Women’s participation in the labour market has increased, but their advancement continues to be hindered by lower employment rates and salaries compared with their male peers. Women across Europe also shoulder the burden of unpaid labour in the home, such as child care and domestic chores.
