Betriebliche Kinderbetreuung (Programme Company-Supported Childcare)

Since 2008 the programme "Company-Supported Childcare" has been striving to improve the reconciliation of family and work. It is meant to complement the childcare services for children under three that are offered by the state, federal states and municipalities. Nationwide, the programme promotes the establishment of new, company-supported childcare. The aim is to support parents and enterprises in finding individual and tailor-made solutions. The programme funds additional childcare facilities for children of employees - at universities also for children of students - up to the end of their third year, either in already existing or in new childcare institutions. For up to two years a subsidy is paid to the accruing operational expenses. The subsidy is paid to those childcare institutions which collaborate with companies in providing new childcare places or to the companies themselves if they operate the respective childcare institution.
